All Saints Day 2013 - The Reverend Geoffrey Chapman

The Beatitudes is one of the most well-known, well-loved passages in the New Testament. Jesus' sermon declaring blessed are the poor, blessed are those who hunger, and those who thirst for righteousness may have changed the world forever. And yet it is also one of the most challenging passages in the Bible, frustrating us as we recognize that poverty can be truly awful, and mere success should not destroy us with guilt. This sermon wrestles with how we embrace this famous passage as Christians.
