Palm Sunday 2013 - The Reverend Geoffrey Chapman

Monday, March 25th, 2013

In this sermon, Reverend Geoff preaches on Palm Sunday as a natural companion to Good Friday, NOT Easter. Easter is unexpected, strange, it doesn't fit with any expectations we did or should have. But Palm Sunday, akin to a successful political campaign, a new relationship, a new job, represents all those moments when we believe "we are saved," when in fact we have placed the hope of our salvation on a politician, a loved one or a career and are fated to feelings of betrayal as our salvation never comes. Reverend Geoff contrasts this quite common phenomenon with the Palm Sunday Jesus himself my have had in mind.
